![]() I know this is a personal preference but I prefer Coke. First off, the Iberostar serves Coke products and has them in your refrigerator in the room. Food: No question on this one, the Iberostar wins hands down. These days, completely unacceptable to not have free wifi. There was no WiFi at the Allegro and there was WiFi at the Iberostar albeit spotty and slow at times. The rooms are also larger at the Iberostar. We even had them switch out the refrigerator at the Allegro and it still kept things at room temperature, maybe just a touch colder. The Iberostar refrigerator keeps things cold and the Allegro's did not. Husband is 6'3" and it was ridiculous how much his feet hung off the bed at the Allegro. I am 5'9" and I would say if you are taller than 5'7" your feet will hang off the edge. I chose the Iberostar because my feet don't hang off the bed which they did at the Allegro. ![]() Rooms: I am going to give this one to the Iberostar even though the room looks dated (i.e., bedspread, curtains, and headboards look old) compared to the Allegro. I found that they were just filling the nice booze bottles (i.e., Bailey’s) with generic booze so you are not getting what you pay for. You get access to a special pool, preferred room location (i.e., close to pool/beach), and access to a private snack area with food and better booze. My opinion is that it isn’t worth the extra money. We purchased the Premium Level Superior Room at the Allegro. The Iberostar was able to locate our check-in quickly and easily whereas the Allegro had me log into my gmail account and print out the booking so they could see the price I received online before checking us in and processing the payment. We had to get out of our rental car to alert him that we were there so he could open the gate. Also, when we arrived at the secured entrance to the Allegro the security guard was asleep or not paying attention. At the Allegro there was no bellman and we had to cart our bags a long way to our room with no assistance, which was an inconvenience because these resorts are very big. Check-in was easy and a bellman took our bags and shuttled us directly to our room on a golf cart. By category: Check-in: The Iberostar wins in this category. We stayed at both during our vacation and the Allegro did some things better but the Iberostar wins overall. We enjoyed our stay at the Iberostar far better than we did the Allegro which is another all inclusive resort just up the road. ![]() You get access to a special pool, preferred room location (i.e., close to pool/beach), and access to a private snack area with.
